The celebrations honoring Black History Month are already a go.
One of the most elaborate and distinguished gatherings paying respects to Black History Month will take place at The Black White House on February 10, 2010.
The list of performers at the “In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music From the Civil Rights Movement” include Seal, John Legend, Bob Dylan, Natalie Cole, John Mellencamp, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama. The emcees of the show will be Queen Latifah and Morgan Freeman.
If you haven’t gotten your invitation already, don’t feel too bad. It’s a short list anyway, but you can catch the action live on the official White House web site (www.whitehouse.gov) and on PBSon Feb. 11. Unless you can sneak in. It’s been done before.
